Merry Christmas

Sorry it's been so long since my last post! I couldn't get my login to work for awhile and I am famous for just not wanting to bother with things like that--but I finally appealed to Jason for help since he is the computer savvy one in our marriage, even though he's not a blogger. He's going to become one through his wife's ignorance and impatience! Anyway, we hope you all had a great Christmas and wish you all a blessed New Year! Our Christmas was really fun and relaxing.

Our traditional Christmas Eve festivities:
Making cookies for Santa, going bowling and new jammies!

Alex earned his Wolf in scouts!

Our first snow in Vancouver--school was closed due to 1/2 inch of snow! I didn't think it was possible to play in that much snow, but the kids started a snowball fight AND went sledding in the neighbors steep driveway! They loved it. I decided that 1/2 inch of snow is the way to go...you can still have fun without having to clean up too much of a mess. We didn't know what we were in for in the days to come!...
After the above very small snowstorm, we heard more was coming and everyone was saying it would be a "blizzard". We were making fun of them because we know what a real blizzard is like and we knew Vancouver didn't get them. Everyone went out and bought chains for their tires and snow shovels...we just laughed at 'em. Well, a couple of days later it started to snow and didn't really stop for a week. Vancouver got more snow than they've had since 1968! The whole city shut down (even though the total was only 2 or 3 feet) because this city just isn't prepared for that much snow and nothing got plowed. We wished we would have bought a snow shovel and chains instead of pointing and laughing at everyone else! We were able to get a great snowman out of it.
